Annika Sörenstam Whööt Are You Doing | I'm A Little ...

... torn my this weeks PGA Tour Event. Annika Sörenstam has been invited to play with the PGA Tour.

On the one hand, some see the PGA Tour as the best tour. If that's the case then Annika would be like a place kicker that could routinely make 60 yard field goals and then would make sense playing in the NFL.

On the other hand, she does have her own tour that she could stay on and play in that league. If she misses the cut then her tour looks like garbage since she's the best player.

Golf is not like any other sport where you'd have to be qualified and then be paid to be put on a team. It's more like NASCAR in that you just enter the event and then let's see who wins. Every year there's someone that's not invited to the Masters that feels slighted. You give people sponsors exemptions and they're going to do things like invite a woman to create 4 extra hours of TV coverage and that many more media people at your event.

Which is what bothers me. It's not a sideshow. It's a tour. It's not like you cook up a good bill to boost ratings or sell more tickets. It's not like you try to get Michael Jackson on your awards show and keep him off the other one to show you're cooler. But it's also not like Annika is winning too easily on her tour.
